Geelong senior coach Chris Scott is more than comfortable with the position his team finds itself in, despite the fact the Cats will have played just one game in 26 days as they fight for a spot in the grand final.

The Cats currently have the week off while Sydney host Adelaide at the SCG for the right to face Geelong in next week’s preliminary final, and Chris Scott is confident his side will be able to safely navigate what many have called “uncharted territory”.

“A few people have said publicly that it is uncharted territory but that’s just stating a fact,” Scott told Cats Media.

“It doesn’t necessary preclude you from being perfectly prepared for that game.”

“We’ve put a lot of thought into it. Even though it was different, it was certainly our preference to win on the weekend and have the week off.”

“We’ve got to mitigate a few potential issues with not having a game on the weekend, but given the choice, we’d rather the two weeks off to prepare for that game.”
