Jake Kolodjashnij

Was named emergency after being omitted from the senior side ahead of round seven. Didn’t play VFL but is highly rated as part of the Cats’ defensive unit so is every chance of returning.

Cory Gregson

Used all over the ground for the VFL Cats in their loss to Essendon and gained praise from coach Shane O’Bree. Had 16 disposals and may replace Lincoln McCarthy at senior level if McCarthy succumbs to a lower leg injury.

George Horlin-Smith

Put in another strong showing in the VFL with 25 disposals – of which 16 were contested. Also kicked two goals from the midfield and is ready to go should he be called upon.

Jordan Murdoch

17 disposals, five marks and four tackles against Essendon VFL.

Billie Smedts

10 contested possessions amongst 21 disposals. Went inside 50 some six times and laid four tackles in a good all round performance which saw him named in the best.

Jed Bews

Bounced back in great fashion having made way for Tom Ruggles before the Cats’ clash with the Eagles, and finished in the best with 25 disposals, four marks and six rebound 50s.

Nathan Vardy

A quiet day against Essendon at Windy Hill for the ruck/forward with one behind to his name.
