Ahead of our round 16 match against the Swans at the SCG on Thursday night, we take a look at which Cats are in the selection mix.

Daniel Menzel (12 disposals, two goals)
Was named an emergency for the AFL side after missing since round five. Kicked two goals in the 16-point win over Werribee. His aerial ability and goal sense are his biggest assets and will add another dimension to the forward line for the must win clash against Sydney.

Lachie Henderson (13 disposals, nine marks, 12 rebounds)
Pushed his case for an AFL recall, racking up nine marks and 12 rebound 50s to be amongst the best players. His experience and ability to play at either end of the ground gives him a strong case for inclusion this week.

Scott Selwood (15 disposals, six tackles)
Back and ankle problems have hampered Selwood’s year so far limiting him to four AFL games. The experienced Cat put in a solid weekend performance with 15 disposals and six tackles and adds a defensive aspect to a highly offensive Geelong midfield which will be important in stopping the Sydney mids.

Jackson Thurlow (26 disposals, four marks)
One of four emergencies for Friday night’s close loss to the Bulldogs. Thurlow collected 26 disposals in the VFL to again be named in the best and will be in the mix this week.

Cory Gregson
A late withdrawal from the VFL game against Werribee. Gregson will be in the frame for a recall to the AFL nonetheless, due to his ability to pressure inside forward 50. Has played 10 games so far this year and laid a career-high nine tackles in the round 10 win against Carlton.
