V/Line is advising Geelong footy fans that special trains will terminate and originate from Southern Cross instead of Richmond for the Round 2 Easter Monday clash.

V/Line will be providing two Geelong line footy special trains before the game on Monday 2 April and two special trains after the game, in addition to normal services.

Once fans arrive at Southern Cross, they will be able to catch regular metropolitan services from Southern Cross to the MCG.

V/Line recommends the below lines:

Before the game

Travelling from Southern Cross to Richmond Station:

V/Line customers can catch a Metro train from Platform 10 on the Glen Waverley and Lilydale/Belgrave lines, or a Metro train on the Pakenham line from Platform 12.

Travelling from Southern Cross to Jolimont Station:

V/Line customers can catch a Metro train from Platform 9 towards Clifton Hill or South Morang.

After the game

Travelling from Richmond Station to Southern Cross Station:

V/Line customers can catch a Metro train towards Flinders Street, via Southern Cross Station, from Platform 3 or Platform 5 at Richmond Station.

Travelling from Jolimont Station to Southern Cross Station:

V/Line passengers can catch a Metro train towards Flinders Street, via Southern Cross Station, from Platform 1 at Jolimont-MCG Station.

Trams from/to Southern Cross

V/Line advises passengers to catch a Metro train to the game. However, customers who wish to board a tram can catch the Route 48 from Southern Cross/Collins St towards North Balwyn

Parking

Limited car parking will be available at the ground for the match.

An 80m exclusion zone will be in place from the stadium to the first row of cars, which has reduced Yarra Park's capacity by two-thirds for most games.
