GEELONG midfielder Mitch Duncan has reiterated the Cats’ desire to flip the script on a disappointing finish to 2018 and continue to develop its promising young playing stocks.

Duncan told 7 News Melbourne that the club understood what needed to happen to get things moving in the right direction.

“We’ve got a lot to work on and we’re working on it now. We’ve got a great young group and as a more experienced player it’s really exciting,” Duncan said.

“The boys were upset about where we finished, every team is probably going to be in that situation other than the team that wins.”

Captain Joel Selwood was another Cat to discuss the fire that a disappointing elimination final loss to Melbourne has lit under the group.

“Every player takes it differently but as a group we walked way not satisfied with when we finished last year,” Selwood told the Geelong Advertiser.

“But we know now that we can’t do anything about what has been done, so it is about picking ourselves up, and as a Geelong supporter sitting back like I am at heart, we were disappointed with the way we finished.

“So we have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and we can talk all we want and you guys can write all you want, but we just have to get to work and get better.”
