Geelong has selected Ben Jarvis at pick 48 in the 2018 NAB National Draft.

The aggressive forward presents well on the lead with his speed and strong hands, complementing his good recovery skills and agility.

“He’s got a terrific leap, he reads the play brilliantly well so he can find that space in the forward line,” Geelong recruiting and list manager Stephen Wells said.

“He did a terrific job for South Australia in the under 18 championships. He played as a marking tall forward and even jumped up in the ruck at times for South Australia, even though he’s only 188cm.”

“He’s a country fella so he’s going to take a bit more time to develop physically, but he’s gone back and played great footy with Norwood as well.”

His 17 disposals, four marks and three goals against Western Australia in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships definitely caught the eye of recruiters. Originally from Port Lincoln, he studied at Rostrevor College in Adelaide.
