Joel Selwood and Rhys Stanley both managed to earn coaches’ votes in round 13 despite the Cats going down to Richmond at the MCG.

Selwood was awarded six votes in the Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA voting, for his 29 touches and two goals which came at crucial stages in the match.

The Cats’ skipper kicked a pair of set shot bombs which included his 150th career goal after being awarded a 50-metre penalty following a late spoil from Nick Vlastuin.

Rhys Stanley’s improved performance in the ruck in recent weeks was recognised with three votes after he came out on top of a duel with Richmond’s Toby Nankervis.

Stanley won five more hit outs than his Tiger opponent while also generating four clearances.

The Cats ruckman did plenty of grunt work, recording six tackles to go with seven one-percenters.

Gary Ablett is the sole Cat to currently feature in the award’s top 20, with the little master coming in at 19 with 32 votes.

Nat Fyfe leads the polling with 59 votes, with Hawk Tom Mitchell in second with 48 votes.
