The Cats are excited to welcome back AFLW players Erin Hoare and Anna Teague for their big clash against Darebin at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.

Amongst the first to sign on for Geelong’s inaugural AFLW season, Hoare and Teague will play their first games in the blue and white hoops in 2018.

Joining the pair in coming into this week’s side will be three debutants.

Former North Geelong teammates Ruby Benham and Georgia Watson will play their first matches.

Benham played for the Geelong Falcons in the inaugural TAC Cup Youth Girls competition and won an AFL Goldfields senior women’s premiership in 2017 with North Geelong. While Watson was North Geelong’s leading goal scorer last season.

A hard running inside midfielder, Madeline Keryk will also debut and brings additional AFLW experience to the side, having played two seasons at Carlton.

This Saturday’s game is a triple header with two AFLW National Championship matches also taking place at GMHBA Stadium. Proceedings begin at 11.15am with U16 Vic Country v Vic Metro, followed by the U18s at 1pm.

If you are unable to attend the VFLW game, you can stream it online at vfl.com.au from 2.45pm.

The team will be wearing Freeze MND socks as part of the MND campaign on Saturday.
