GEELONG has named its side to take on the Casey Demons in round four of VFL action.

Fourteen AFL-listed players will travel to Casey Fields for the 7:00 PM start on Saturday night.

The teams sit fourth and fifth on the ladder with two wins and one loss to their names and will be looking to get the leg up on their opponents before the season hots up.

Aaron Black will get another shot at a role in defence after a successful trial down back last week.

Chris Scott says the experiment is an attempt to find opportunities for Black in his second year at the club.

“He’s only played one game there (down back) at VFL level,” Scott said.

“We think he’s a good enough player to play in our AFL team, but he might need to have a few more strings to his bow because the next opportunity might be as a defender as opposed to a forward.

“We tend not to bring guys in and play them in a different spot unless they’ve done it at VFL level,” he said.

The backline will have its work cut out for it with the Demons’ forwards firing on all cylinders last week.

Cam Pedersen is coming off a five-goal performance for the Demons last week, so Ryan Gardner, Timm House and Aaron Black will all have their work cut out for them.

Jackson Thurlow returns to the side after a week in the AFL side and has been named on the ball, while Stewart Crameri has been named at centre half-forward as he continues to push his case for a Geelong debut.
