GEELONG’s Joel Selwood has claimed best-on-ground honours from the coaches for his 29 disposal and seven tackle performance against Port Adelaide.

Selwood claimed nine votes from the two coaches as Geelong dominated the Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award leaderboard.

Jed Bews and Patrick Dangerfield were the next highest vote-getters, polling five votes apiece.

Bews arguably produced his best performance for the year, winning a number of critical one-on-one contests and saving a certain Jack Watts goal with a lunging dive.

Dangerfield looked untroubled by a corked calf as he gathered 28 disposals and kicked a goal. Mark Blicavs claimed three votes after a favourable matchup with Charlie Dixon.

Sam Menegola was awarded two votes for his 27 touches and a goal.

George Horlin-Smith also managed to snare a vote despite coming in as a late inclusion for Tom Hawkins, who suffered back spasms in the warm-up.
