The Geelong Football Club today announced Braith Cox has been appointed as the club’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Cox has been acting Chief Commercial Officer for the past four months and now assumes the role on a permanent basis.

“Braith has demonstrated strong leadership and has delivered outstanding results over the past seven years with the club,” Geelong Chief Executive Brian Cook said.

“He has been an important contributor to our executive team and has positive relationships within the club, with our key stakeholders and within the AFL industry.

“We are pleased that Braith has continued his development to rise through the club to this critical role.”

Cox originally joined the Cats in September 2010 as Business Development Manager, a role he held for four years. He was promoted to General Manager – Partnerships and Corporate sales in March 2015, and joined the club’ executive leadership team at that time.

During his tenure key partnerships with Ford, GMHBA, Simonds, Morris Finance, Deakin University and Cotton On have been extended or established with the club.

Cox graduated from the University of Ballarat with a Bachelor of Management in marketing. He excelled in the sporting arena, playing with the Perth Wildcats and the Melbourne Tigers in the NBL, and was a member of the Tigers 2006 championship squad. Cox is also a former captain of the Geelong Supercats basketball team.
