Cameron Guthrie at training on Wednesday

Cameron Guthrie is already showing great signs as he begins his rehab after suffering a calf injury during the loss to Richmond.

Guthrie was running at training on Wednesday and could return in time for a preliminary final, if the Cats get past the Swans this weekend.

"Unfortunately Cam picked up a calf strain during the game," Cats head physio Mark Young said on the latest episode of the GMHBA Health Report.

"The scans show it's a low-grade strain.

"We're confident potentially next week, but he definitely won't play this week."
