The nation’s best young talent will be coached by one of the Cats’ newest faces, under the banner of one of the club’s all-time greats.

Kicking off in September across two matches, the best under-17 and under-18 footballers in the country will form two sides, one named after Geelong champion Corey Enright and the other North Melbourne star Brent Harvey.

Team Enright will also be coached by current Cats’ specialist coach Brad Johnson, while Team Harvey will be headed by highly regarded coach and West Coast premiership player Peter Sumich.

The format enters its second year in 2017 and AFL talent manger Kevin Sheehan says the success of the series some 12 months prior bodes well for this year’s final showcase of the best draft eligible talent from across Australia.

“The Under-18s match at Punt Road Oval will be the final match preview of the best players eligible for this year’s NAB AFL Draft and with the trading of future Draft selections now part of the system the Under-17s Enright v Harvey match at the MCG will give a further insight into the potential for 2018,” Sheehan said.
