Geelong has named its team to play Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

The Cats have made five changes to the line-up that was beaten by Adelaide last weekend, with Andrew Mackie, Jackson Thurlow, Nakia Cockatoo, Brandan Parfitt and Wylie Buzza earning recalls.

Mackie returns after missing the past two matches due to wrist soreness and an illness, while Thurlow has earned a promotion after some excellent form in the VFL.

Cockatoo and Parfitt have shaken off hamstring problems, while Buzza is back after promising displays against Greater Western Sydney and the Brisbane Lions earlier in the season.

Rhys Stanley (omitted), Steven Motlop (managed), Daniel Menzel (general soreness), Mark Blicavs (ankle) and Zach Guthrie (omitted) go out of the side.
