Aaron Black

After starting the season with five games in a row scoring over 100 points, the Cats have only done it once in the subsequent five games. Should the Cats decide they want more scoring power, Aaron Black has shown this year he knows where the goals are.

Wylie Buzza

The Cats have had no problem blooding debutantes in 2017, with a total of five playing their first games. Could the forward/ruck Wylie Buzza be the next to come into the side? Each week in the VFL he has shown continued development and consistency in his game. Chris Scott has alluded that it may be a case of when not if for the Queenslander.

Nakia Cockatoo

The Cats will take absolutely zero risks on the Nakia Cockatoo as he looks to overcome a minor hamstring strain. By Friday night it will be two weeks since the injury, but it will be how he trains this week that will decide his chances.

Tom Lonergan

Veteran Tom Lonergan was managed last week against the Power but with a Crows forwardline boasting Tex Walker, Josh Jenkins, Mitch McGovern and sometimes Sam Jacobs, the Cats will be wanting the stopper to return to the side this week.

Tom Ruggles

Tom Ruggles is another who has put his hand up with some convincing performances in the VFL. The Cats know what they’ll get from Ruggles, tough and uncompromising football that is well suited to a massive Friday night clash with the ladder leaders.

Rhys Stanley

Rhys Stanley missed the Cats clash with the Western Bulldogs after injuring his ankle and with the Cats having the bye on the weekend in the VFL, he was unable to stake his claim for a senior spot. Whilst Smith and Blicavs are combining well as a duo, Stanley has had success against Crows ruck Sam Jacobs before.
