Geelong has named its team to face Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

The Cats have made four changes to the side that was defeated by Collingwood in round six.

Daniel Menzel returns after being 'managed' last weekend, while James Parsons is back after serving his two-match suspension for striking Hawthorn's Luke Hodge.

The other inclusions are Jackson Thurlow and Rhys Stanley.

Zac Smith, Tom Stewart and Sam Menegola have all been omitted, while Brandan Parfitt is out for an extended period after suffering a serious hamstring injury.

Saturday night's game will take place almost exactly 25 years after the famous match in 1992 when the Cats kicked the record VFL/AFL score against the Brisbane Bears.
