Geelong has recruited another local lad, with Jack Henry joining the club via the rookie draft.

The Cats used their first pick in the rookie draft (No. 16) to snare Henry.

According to the AFL website, Henry is "a star junior athlete with a powerful leap suited to high jump and hurdles who came third at national level in decathlon last year.

"Henry kicked-off his TAC Cup season with a bang, slotting five majors and taking 10 marks against North Ballarat Rebels.

"He finished the campaign with 21 goals from 13 games, while he went goalless from seven touches in his only NAB AFL Under-18 championships appearance for Vic Country."
