Started the season in great form, then had to watch on from the sidelines for a number of weeks after suffering a knee injury. Bounced back strongly and helped the Cats surge up the ladder in the closing rounds of the home and away season.

Was unbowed by the pressure of being the focal point up forward, once again winning the Cats’ goalkicking by booting 55 goals, 11 more than in 2015. Finished seventh in the best and fairest.

Had to wait until round 18 to make his AFL debut, but made a massive impact during the remainder of the season. Averaged 24 disposals in his eight games and kicked some great goals.
