Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield were the only Geelong players to poll votes in the AFL Coaches' Association Gary Ayres award for best finals player after the preliminary final loss to the Sydney Swans.

Selwood polled four votes, while Dangerfield received one.

Swans defender Dane Rampe got the nod as best on ground, while star midfielder Issac Heeney also featured prominently.
