Well, the Cats' trip to the MCG on Saturday afternoon certainly didn't go to plan.

On top but off target during the early minutes of the game, the boys in the hoops then fell away badly.

They were 44 points down by quarter-time after Collingwood piled on seven goals to zip in the opening term.

It was Geelong's first goalless first quarter against the Magpies since round nine, 1980 - a game that was played at Victoria Park.

The Cats never gave up, closing to within striking distance early in the final term, but the end result was their fifth loss to the Pies in the seven games the teams have played since the 2011 Grand Final.

However, it wasn't a day without positives.

And perhaps the greatest positive was the form of the two old blokes, Jimmy Bartel and Corey Enright, who were named best and second-best for the Cats in AFL Media's match report.

Roaming around the ground in his usual cool and calm manner, Bartel finished with 23 disposals and nine marks.

In what was his 292nd AFL game, it was a vintage performance.

Enright also caught the eye by keeping his cool despite Collingwood's relentless dominance in the first and last quarters.

In what was his 317th AFL game, he finished with 19 disposals and five marks.

The performances of Bartel and Enright have made us ponder this question: Which of them has played the better footy so far this season?

We're guessing this will be a very tight poll, but we'd love to hear what you think, so cast your vote below.
