A lot of questions and labels have been thrown at West Coast this season. But for a side that made last year’s grand final and one that now sits in sixth position on the AFL ladder with a 4-2 record, the Eagles are really yet to put a foot wrong.

They travel east this weekend for round seven and present themselves as one of the toughest opponents Geelong has had to face, bringing with them an array of talent and a relatively settled 22.

Emerging utility Elliott Yeo missed last week’s 62-point win over Collingwood in Perth but has recovered to be a certain inclusion against the Cats, whilst running defender Xavier Ellis has put his hand up for selection with a 24 disposal, six mark outing for East Fremantle in the WAFL.

Ellis suffered an achilles injury in round one and West Coach senior coach Adam Simpson has admitted this week the 28-year-old is “definitely in the mix”.

On the current injury front, talls Jeremy McGovern and Jack Darling are battling ankle and back injuries respectively but would be unlikely to miss the crucial clash at Simonds Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

At least one player will need to make way for Yeo in what will be a tough decision for the Eagles’ match committee. Recruit Lewis Jetta is yet to cement his role within the side and was not as damaging as hoped against Collingwood with just 10 disposals, whilst Sharrod Wellingham suffered a case of the second game blues to only get his hands on the football 5 times.

Second-year player Liam Duggan was far from the Eagles’ worst in round six but could make way for Yeo purely based on experience.

With only one looming change, here is how the West Coast Eagles are predicted to line up in round seven against the Cats:
