Cats draftee Sam Menegola is progressing well in his recovery from a knee injury.

Menegola suffered a posterior cruciate ligament strain in his left knee during the NAB Challenge loss to Collingwood in February.

But he is now stepping up his workload as he looks to get back on the park as soon as possible.

"[There were] some concerns early on with the swelling he had, but the scans were reassuring - no structural damage," Cats physio Mark Young said on the Round 1 episode of nib Medical Room.

"He began jogging this week and you'll see him soon."

Young has given updates on a number of other players on nib Medical Room, including:

* Jackson Thurlow (knee)

* Scott Selwood (ankle)

* Mitch Clark (calf)

* Tom Read (knee)
