THERE won't be a live video stream of this year's best and fairest function, but there will be plenty of ways to follow the count as it unfolds on Thursday, October 7.

Coverage of the red carpet will begin at approximately 6.30pm, with the 'Carji' Greeves Medal count to get underway just after 8pm

* Rolling coverage of the event, including text stories, videos of the speeches, tweets and Instagram pictures, will be available right here at geelongcats.com.au

* The Cats' official Twitter account, along with the players' accounts, will be providing photos and updates from the various awards and the best and fairest count

* Photos and updates will also be posted on the Cats' official Instagram and Facebook accounts, with plenty more on the players' accounts

The winner of the best and fairest will be announced at around 11pm.

Shortly after that a video highlights package of the winner's season will be posted on geelongcats.com.au, along with a video of the winner's press conference.
