Young Geelong defender Jackson Thurlow has been awarded the round 19 nomination for the AFL’s rising star award. The skillful half-back has had a terrific season so far and currently is ranked in the top three for rising stars in kicks, marks and rebounds from 50. 

The skillful half-back has had a terrific season so far and currently is ranked number one amongst rising stars for rebounds from 50, number two for kicks and uncontested possessions, number three in effective disposals and number four for marks.

Thurlow recorded 18 disposals, five marks and two tackles against the Swans on Saturday night.

Thurlow is the second Cats nomination this year after first-year forward Cory Gregson received the round six nomination.
