CATS coach Chris Scott has praised Josh Caddy for helping the team cover the loss of star midfielder Mitch Duncan.

The 22-year-old has been among the club’s best performers in recent weeks, and he was a very solid performer in the big win over Essendon, tallying 20 disposals, five tackles and two goals.

"I think Josh has been building his game throughout the course of the season," Scott said on the latest episode of Tweet The Coach, brought to you by Momentum Energy.

"He’s had a few exceptional games through the middle, and like our team, and specifically our midfield, he’s had a couple of games that have been a little bit off as well.

"We’re still searching for that consistency, and Josh is probably at the heart of that.

"But Josh’s improvement and more midfield time with Mitch out means that when we do get Mitch back we’ll have a more complete group."
