CHRIS Scott has outlined how the coaches see Shane Kersten's role in the team as part of the latest episode of Tweet The Coach, brought to you by Momentum Energy.

Kersten has featured in the Cats' past four matches, and he was an impressive contributor against Carlton in round eight, finishing with 13 disposals, seven marks and two goals.

Scott believes Kersten is helping the Cats form a potent attacking mix alongside Tom Hawkins and Mitch Clark.

"It’s a role we’ve been hoping for Shane to play for a period of years, to be honest," Scott said.

"[He's playing as the] third tall forward, where he doesn’t have to be a focal point, necessarily, for the long, high ball, but he can use his assets a little bit more, which are his speed and his marking on the lead."

Tweet The Coach also features Scott’s thoughts on:

* Michael Luxford

* The ball movement into the forward line

* The cleaner work around the stoppages in recent weeks
