The Selwood family name is set to achieve yet another milestone this weekend, though this time it won’t just be one of the boys, but all of them.

Adam, Troy, Joel and Scott are due to reach a combined tally of 579 games this week, taking them to fourth spot in VFL/AFL history for most games by a family of brothers.

Their tally is comprised of 187 games for Adam (West Coast), 75 games for Troy (Brisbane), 192 games for Joel (Geelong) and 124 games for Scott (West Coast).

The milestone will see them overtake the legendary Nankervis brothers who played 578 games, comprising of 325 for Ian and 253 for Bruce, both with Geelong Football Club.

Remaining ahead of the Selwoods are the Morwood brothers (611 games comprising 170 games for Paul, 229 for Tony and 212 for Shane), Madden brothers (710 games comprising 378 games for Simon and 332 for Justin) and of course, the Daniher brothers who hold the record with 752 games (comprising 313 games for Terry, 82 for neale, 233 for Tony and 124 for Chris).

Other notable record holding brothers are Cornes, Coventry, Richardson, Burgoyne and Ablett.
