The VFL Cats will welcome back stalwart Jack Hollmer for this Saturday’s clash with Port Melbourne.

Hollmer is set to play his first match for 2015 after an interrupted start to the year due to a shoulder injury he sustained while playing with the Wanderers in the NTFL Grand Final.

This Saturday will be Hollmer’s 98th VFL match, bringing him one step closer to reaching 100 VFL games. If he reaches the milestone, he would be the first ever Geelong VFL listed player to do so.

The Bankers will return to Simonds Stadium for the first time since round 1 where they will look to continue their winning streak over Port. The Cats have beaten Port Melbourne in their past four encounters, starting from the 2012 VFL Grand Final.

Although, only two players from that VFL Premiership, Josh Walker and Jackson Sheringham, have been named in this week’s squad.

George Horlin-Smith (groin) and Dawson Simpson (shoulder) will miss with injury complaints after last week’s loss to Footscray.

Dean Gore will continue his stint on the sidelines as he recovers from a nerve pain injury in his shoulder.

The VFL Cats’ match is the only senior match being played within the region this Saturday with a bye for the local leagues and interleague teams all playing at away venues.

For those who can’t make it to Simonds Stadium, it will be broadcast live on Channel 7 from 12pm.

The Cats’ 27-man squad will be cut back to 23 on Saturday morning.
