MITCH Clark, Rhys Stanley, Mathew Stokes and Andrew Mackie are in the frame to return to the Cats' team for Friday night's big clash with Collingwood at the MCG.

Each member of the quartet will be given until late in the week to prove their fitness.

"Mitch had some mid-foot soreness – just a minor sprain to his left foot," club physio Mark Young said in the round nine episode of nib Medical Room

"[It was the] opposite side to the history he's had on his right foot.

"That's improving really well and we'll test him later this week."

Stanley missed the Tigers game due to general soreness.

"We just felt that he would have benefitted from some rest, and he has," Young said.

"He looked good on the track [on Tuesday]. He'll also be a test for the weekend."

Stokes (achilles) and Mackie (quad) are in a similar situation.

The latest episode of nib Medical Room also contains Young's thoughts on:

* James Kelly (ruptured testicle)
* Hamish McIntosh (calf)
* Billie Smedts (broken collarbone)
* Daniel Menzel (knee, hamstring)
* Nathan Vardy (knee soreness)
* Jarrad Jansen (hamstring)
