Young Cat Jackson Thurlow will play his first AFL game on Sunday, four months after suffering a kidney laceration at training.

Thurlow has been named in the Cats final side to take on the Suns at Simonds Stadium. Thurlow returned to VFL action in the last month with immediate impact.

Joining Thurlow in the side are Jimmy Bartel, Steven Motlop and Jordan Murdoch.

George Horlin-Smith joins Dawson Simpson as omissions whilst Andrew Mackie (quad) and Billie Smedts (suspension) will also miss.

Horlin-Smith and Simpson will both play for the Cats VFL side at Simonds Stadium on Friday night.

The Cats and Suns have both started the season 0-2 with the Suns losing captain Gary Ablett Jnr with a shoulder injury for this week’s clash.
