After a successful 40-point win last weekend, the VFL Cats will take to Simonds Stadium for their second practice match this Saturday.

The Cats have named an extended 30-man squad for tomorrow’s hit-out against Richmond’s VFL side.

Sam Blease will play his first game for the VFL Cats after playing in the NAB Challenge last week.

The VFL line-up will be cut back to 26 on Saturday morning once Sunday’s NAB Challenge squad is trimmed. The seven Cats named in both squads are: Dawson Simpson, Hamish McIntosh, Jed Bews, Josh Cowan, Shane Kersten, Jordan Mudoch and Cory Gregson. A group of these players will play in tomorrow’s VFL practice match.

In order to give all VFL listed players game time before the season officially begins, Mitch Herbison, Nick Dixon Dan Measures, Dane McFarlane, Fraser  Fort and Simon Close will be rested this week.

Meanwhile, Daniel Gibbs, Stephen Bensted, Brant Haintz, Tom Atkins and Tom Maas are set to have their first VFL hit-out tomorrow.

Practice match 2: Geelong VFL vs Richmond VFL, 12pm Saturday 21st March, Simonds Stadium. The Polly Farmer Gate (Moorabool Street) will be open from 11.30am. Seating will be available within the lower level of the Reg Hickey Stand, catering also available within the stand.
