The Cats will field a strong line up when it takes on the Gold Coast Suns this Sunday in Townsville.
Recruits Mitch Clark and Sam Blease as well as draftees Nakia Cockatoo, Dean Gore, Cory Gregson, Jordan Cunico and Padraig Lucey will play their first games in the blue and white hoops.
Blease looks to long AFL career
With skipper Joel Selwood not playing in the game, the Cats will still have plenty of experience in the side led by premiership teammates Jimmy Bartel, Harry Taylor, Andrew Mackie, Corey Enright, Mathew Stokes, Tom Lonergan, Tom Hawkins, Mitch Duncan and James Kelly.
Mackie: Tough start to tell all
Also playing their first game for the Cats will be category B rookie Michael Luxford and defender Jake Kolodjashnij.
The clash with the Suns will kick off 3.40pm EST (4.30pm EDT) at Tony Ireland Stadium and will be broadcast live on Fox Footy with K Rock radio providing radio coverage.
