GEELONG midfielder Jordan Murdoch has won the Grand Finalsprint, ending Adelaide star Patrick Dangerfield's three-year hold on thetitle.

Dangerfield decided not to compete in the 2014 race, paving theway for a new winner and Murdoch took his chance.

Murdoch was a popular pre-race tip having posted one of thefastest ever 20m sprint times at the AFL Combine – stopping the clock at 2.86seconds.

The traditional sprint was held at half-time of Saturday's GrandFinal between the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn, with the Hawks on track forback-to-back premierships.
