2014 Sage Institue Carji Greeves Medal prospects based on this year’s stats

This year the Cats put up a tremendous fight throughout the season, as they came away with 17 wins and two finals appearances after pushing their way to a top four finish.

According to the stats sheets of 2014, the Cats completed the year as one of the competition leaders in more areas than one, including contested marks, marks, goal assists and tackles.

Following Essendon’s leading total of 2470 marks, Geelong held the second highest number of marks with a grand total of 2245 marks for the year.

To better this result, the Cats ended the season as the number one team for contested marks with the highest total of 275, followed by Fremantle on 262.

Geelong also finished with the second highest amount of tackles with 1676 after the Swans on 1691.

And the Cats finished third for the number of goal assists with 227 after the Hawks finished on top with 269 and Port Adelaide came second on 245.
