In a classy victory against Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday, Geelong players have taken all the votes for the AFL Coaches Association Champion of the Year Award.

In what was a stellar performance, Steven Motlop received top votes from both Chris Scott and Melbourne coach Paul Roos.

The speedy Cat had 26 disposals, with an efficiency of 81%, 7 marks, 8 inside 50’s and a goal.

Joel Selwood received 8 votes and was the disposal leader with 31 for the match. The skipper also had 7 clearances and 6 tackles.

Steve Johnson was another midfielder recognized, with 6 votes from the coaches, for 27 disposals, 8 marks, 7 tackles and 8 inside 50’s.

In the back half, James Kelly and Corey Enright were both given two votes, each with 10 marks and Enright with a staggering 8 rebound 50’s.

Ruckman Hamish McIntosh and veteran Harry Taylor also received one vote each.
