Despite enduring a heavy whack during Sunday’s 96-point victory over the Saints, both Harry Taylor and George Horlin-Smith have pulled up well and will be tests for Round 14 against the Suns.

Taylor received a weighty knock to his left knee while Horlin-Smith was subbed off as a precaution after a hefty tackle left him with a stiff back.

However, Geelong’s physio Mike Snelling feels confident the two Cats will be available to take the trip to Gold Coast.

“He’s (Taylor) got a little irritation in his knee but we’ve scanned him and he doesn’t look too bad, which is good news, so he’ll be a test this week,” Snelling told Cats TV.

Young Cats, George Burbury and Lincoln McCarthy, are also making a steady recovery according to Geelong’s physio.

If their progress continues they shouldn’t be too far away from hitting the training track and a VFL return.

“As we know George had a little groin and hip issue and then he was looking fantastic at training and running really quick but he unfortunately aggravated his hamstring.” Snelling said.

“He’s now back running and doing some really good work.

“He’ll be a test probably towards the end of the week to see whether he’s ready for training, so in short term we should see him back in Geelong colours.

“Lincoln has also had a few niggles over the course of the last few weeks, the last being a calf irritation.

“His calf is now pretty good and he’s been running and training and he’s looking ok, so we’ll also assess him in a week or so and see where he is.”
