This week, Hawthorn’s best 22 will have a slight re-shuffle for Easter Monday’s clash against the Cats, with a number of fit players coming in and injured players going out.

General Manager of Football Operations, Chris Fagan, confirmed that four key players would most likely join the list for this Monday, following the injuries of Liam Shiels and Matt Spangher, who were both knocked out during last week’s win over the Suns.

One of the four to return from a two-week calf injury is the 200cm ruckman Ben McEvoy, who was last year’s contested grab king with a competition high of 33.

“It was probably a conservative decision to keep him out for another week,” Fagan told hawthornfc.com.au

“He trained fully this morning and will be available for selection.”

The Hawks influential youngster, Ryan Schoenmakers, has also been given the nod after spending an entire year watching from the sidelines recovering from injury. The key defender will make his return for this week’s showdown, along with fellow back-men Brian Lake and Ben Stratton.

“All those guys are in line for selection this week,” Fagan said.

With the return of three tall defenders, the Hawks will step onto the MCG this Easter Monday feeling a little more confident.

Although, the Hawks will take the battle against the Cats without their high clearance maker Liam Shiels and defender Matt Spangher.

The Cats and the Hawks will come together for Easter Monday to battle it out at 3:20pm on the MCG.
