On Cats TV Andrew Mackie and Herald Sun journalist Scott Gullan discuss this Saturday’s battle between the two undefeated sides the Cats and the Eagles.

The last time the Eagles made the journey across the Nullarbor to Simonds Stadium the Cats took them out by 44 points in Round 22, 2010.

Mackie admits the Eagles are looking sharp under their new coach Adam Simpson, and he believes this week's clash will provide the Cats with a helpful gage to where they sit in the competition.

“They look to be really confident playing that way, obviously they’ve come in with a fresh new coach and they’re really responding well - it will be a good guide to see where we’re at against a quality team,” Mackie told Cats TV.

Gullan has been impressed with the Eagles’ new brand of footy, although this Saturday they’ll be missing two key players, Mark LeCras and Chris Masten, due to recent injury.

“First of all they haven’t had injuries until this week and also he’s got them playing a bit Hawthorn like – they’re moving the ball very similarly and quickly,” Gullan said.
