Whilst many players are getting their rest and relaxation in tropical locations across the globe two young Cats are using their time off for something special.

George Horlin-Smith and Lincoln McCarthy jetted off Sunday night for the African nation of Uganda where they will spend a week at the village of Mannya.

The trip is through the Cotton On Foundation's efforts to assist the village in its efforts to overcome serious health problems.

Horlin-Smith and McCarthy will be joined on the trip by Cats player welfare manager Ron Watt and follow in the footsteps of teammates Tom Lonergan and Joel Selwood and former teammate Brad Ottens who have all made the trip.
