Despite being subbed off at three quarter time Geelong’s physio, Mike Snelling, assures that Joel Selwood will be right to take on the Suns under the lights this Saturday at Simonds Satdium.

Snelling said the Cats skipper was taken off the ground as a precautionary measure, after receiving an uncomfortable knock to the elbow and ear.

“He had a knock to the area which most people know as the funny bone and the nerve which is really really tender.”

“He looked quite sore when he came off which he was, look that improved straight away and it was then just a precaution to sub him out of the game, and he also had a knock to ear which was pretty sore as well, he should be ok for this week.”

Billie Smedts has recovered well from a high ankle sprain and should be up for selection this week.

Snelling also said that James Podsiadly dodged a serious injury on the weekend, when he hyper-extended his knee.
