Well, there's no doubt that the Cats' 17-point win over Fremantle was a bit scrappy.

The various Geelong players who spoke to the media after the game admitted as much.

But the victory, which was inspired by Patrick Dangerfield's 31 disposals and four goals, was extremely valuable.

With Greater Western Sydney, the Western Bulldogs, the West Coast Eagles and Adelaide also winning on the weekend, the Cats find themselves seventh on the ladder.

Yet they are just one win and 0.5 per cent behind the second-placed Crows.

That means the next two weeks are crucial for Geelong.

On Saturday night, the Cats will host Adelaide in a massive clash at Simonds Stadium.

Then, the following Friday night at Simonds Stadium, the Cats will host the Bulldogs in another good old fashioned eight-point game.

After that, Geelong takes on Essendon (Etihad Stadium), Richmond (MCG), the Brisbane Lions (Gabba) and Melbourne (Simonds Stadium) in its last four matches.

So the next fortnight is going to be massive.

If Chris Scott's men can win both games, they'll be on track for a top-four finish.

But where do you think the Cats will finish up at the end of the season?
