The Cats have received a double-blow from the Match Review Panel, with both Tom Hawkins and Mitch Duncan suspended and set to miss this Saturday’s clash with Richmond at Simonds Stadium.

Hawkins was cited for a second-quarter incident involving Sydney’s Dane Rampe and was subsequently charged for striking. The incident was assessed as intentional contact with low impact to the face and met with a two match-suspension, though due to a previous poor record, that suspension has been increased to three matches and can be downgraded to two with an early plea.

Duncan has received a one-game suspension for striking Swan Tom Papley in the final term. The incident was assessed as intentional conduct with medium impact to the body and graded as a two-match suspension which can be downgraded to one match with an early plea.

Geelong can challenge both suspensions and has until 11am Tuesday morning to assess all options.
