As a result of past weekend’s State election result, the proposed $90m Stage 4 redevelopment of Simonds Stadium will become a reality, with the new Labor Government committing an additional $70m towards the project.

This is an outstanding outcome for our Club and the Geelong community, and ensures we continue to implement our vision of providing a world-class stadium for our region.

The key element of the project will be the replacement of the Brownlow and Jennings Stands, with capacity increasing to approx. 36,000.

Planning and design work on Stage 4 will commence immediately, with a key task being to identify the best timelines for commencement and completion of construction, whilst minimising disruption to match-day and general club operations.

We can however confirm that there will be no impact during the 2015 season.

Once the key timelines for the project have been established, we will communicate these dates to members and stakeholders.
