Cats recruit Hamish McIntosh will play his first game since 2012 after being named in the Cats NAB Challenge squad to take on Melbourne.

The former North Melbourne ruckman was picked after impressing on the track this week. He will combine ruck duties with Dawson Simpson who impressed against Collingwood two weeks ago.

Also picked in the Cats squad are first year players Jarrod Jansen, Jake Kolodjashnij and rookie Nick Bourke.

Skipper Joel Selwood will play his first game for 2014 after minor foot surgery four weeks ago whilst Jordan Murdoch and Jackson Thurlow will also play their first games this season.

Out of the Cats side that defeated Collingwood by two points at Simonds Stadium are Nathan Vardy, Mathew Stokes, Jesse Stringer, George Burbury, Corey Enright and Andrew Mackie.

The Cats game will kick off at 5.40pm CST/7.10pm AEDST and will be televised on Fox Footy.
