The VFL Cats have named a strong side as they look to bounce back to form when they take on Frankston at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.

A total of 19 AFL-listed players, including Mitch Clark, have been named in the extended squad of 31 (the final team will be confirmed once the AFL side to play Essendon has been finalised on Friday evening).

Out of the team that lost to Collingwood at Victoria Park last weekend go Scott Selwood (AFL), Joe Atley (TAC Cup), Will Sexton (managed) and Sam McLachlan (managed).

Jack Exell from the Bendigo Pioneers (TAC Cup) has been selected as the Cats' 23rd player.

Jack is the son of of former Geelong forward Gavin Exell and is eligible to be drafted in the 2016 national draft.

The 23rd player rule is designed to enable clubs to promote young talent and provide them with a taste of VFL football to aid their development.
