Geelong has named an inexperienced squad for its opening NAB Cup encounters against St Kilda and Sydney.

Only 10 from last season’s AFL grand final team will play, while Billie Smedts, Orren Stephenson, Jesse Stringer, Cameron Eardley and Shane Kersten will appear at NAB Cup level for the first time.

The full squad is:
Joel Selwood (captain), Mitch Brown, Billie Smedts, Jimmy Bartel, Andrew Mackie, Harry Taylor, Josh Hunt, Trent West, Tom Lonergan, Jordan Schroder, Shannon Byrnes, Taylor Hunt, Mitch Duncan, Orren Stephenson, Tom Gillies, Tom Hawkins, Mathew Stokes, Cameron Guthrie, Steven Motlop, George Horlin-Smith, Simon Hogan, Cameron Eardley, Shane Kersten, Jesse Stringer, Josh Walker, George Burbury, Jonathan Simpkin, Ryan Bathie.

Geelong will face Sydney in game two of the triple header and then close out the night against St Kilda.

The games will be shown live on Fox Footy (ch 504).
